As part of a structured educational programme, Laboratoire Orescience supported a group of young people from the city of Courbevoie in the creation of a home fragrance.

Conducted in partnership with the city of Courbevoie and mission locale rives de seine, the programme “create your fragrance” took place during the 2021 to 2022 period with two main objectives:

Training participants in careers within the cosmetics and perfumery industry
Encouraging initiative and creativity through a collaborative project

Training in cosmetics and perfumery professions

The programme was designed for young people aged 16 to 25 who had left the school or university system and wished to discover the realities of careers in cosmetic formulation, fragrance creation and the cosmetic manufacturing environment.

Supervised by the teams at Laboratoire Orescience, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of fragrance creation and explored the different stages involved in product development:

• Introduction to the principles of olfactory composition
• Understanding the regulatory framework applicable to fragrances
• Participation in the key stages of home fragrance development
• Integration of industrial constraints and quality requirements
• Collaborative work within a structured development project

Home fragrance creation: from concept to product

The project enabled participants to experience the main stages involved in developing a home fragrance:

• Definition of the olfactory concept
  Selection of fragrance raw materials
• Balancing of top, heart and base notes
  Technical validation of the formula
• Presentation of the final fragrance product

This immersive approach provided a practical understanding of the development process for a scented product within a professional perfumery environment.
